It Must Be Love...

So on Thursday 10th March 2011 I went to the wedding of a close university friend, and what a beautiful ceremony it was! It felt like only yesterday that I met Glenda in the halls of Kingston University and now, 3-4 years down the line, I was sitting in the pews of a Baptist Church watching her recite her vows to the man of her dreams *tears*

The whole day was so beautiful, but it was the words of wisdom from the Pastor on the day that had the biggest impact on me and caused me to think about the world we live in (hence the reason for this blog).

It is fair to say that most of us are searching for the “perfect” man or woman who will complete us and fulfil our every need and desire. For us guys, we look for a beautiful woman who is God-fearing, loving, considerate, can cook, family orientated, sociable, understanding... (the list goes) and for the women, well you know what you want :-P But the question is, how many of us have examined ourselves and asked “Do I see the perfect partner in me?”

Many of us are discouraged because all we seem to attract are useless people who only care about themselves. However, the reality of the matter is that you will attract “hoes” if you walk and talk like a pimp. The truth of the matter is if you want a King, you better start walking and talking like a Queen!

I couldn’t believe it when we went to McDonalds (before the wedding ceremony - don't judge me lol) and saw that the ever-so-famous £1.99 ‘Happy Meal’ was now £2.49 (at the time of publish). The world is no longer what it used to be! The Christian principles on which our country was once based, have been removed and we wonder why there is chaos and anarchy everywhere?!

God blessed marriage from the Garden of Eden so it is something that is very dear to God’s heart. One of the main reasons, in my opinion, why our society has gone downhill is because the devil has broken up the family; the building block of every society, where the husband and wife are the foundation which the home is built on.

When things seem to go wrong in the home you must understand that you don’t love someone because they are worthy of your love, but it’s your love for them that makes them worthy. So if your single and you have been praying for your ‘perfect partner’ try adding the prayer “Lord make me more like you and teach me how to love.”

If you’re in a relationship and things seem to be going wrong, just allow Jesus to fix it. Remember, when things were going wrong at the wedding in Galilee, Jesus showed up and fixed it.

Remember to pray for your friends and family, because when you are weak and cannot pray, it’s the prayers of your family and friends that keeps you.

Love is a decision we make not a feeling that magically appears. So from now on, instead of me trying to find my lost rib in the wilderness, my prayer is, “Lord, help me to be more like you.” For "I want my wife to be so hiding in God that I must seek Him to find her"

I pray that you remain blessed as we seek God for more understanding and wisdom in this subject.

To end this blog please watch this video (LOL) and remember whatever happens in the dark will come out into the light (Oh my Gard lool) – *watch the video*

Powerful message! You have enlightened me on the importance of marriage and seeking the right person. Most times we pray for material worth and physical things in a person but you have proved to me that we should look beneath and follow the saying 'all that glitters is not gold'. Thanks michael :-)

The greatest love story ever told happened at Calvary...if we can ask God to teach us how to love like he does thn we have nothing to worry about .. like u said we can only attract wht we are. ..

Well said Mic, God’s people should set the standards to live by instead of allowing our society to do it for us.

Marriage is a beautiful thing and its sad that in modern day society, worldly institutions are tryna replace the importance of Gods institution which is marriage. We can make that difference and bring it back to what God intended for us!

... When you r soo into him, its amazing how our specification of what we thought we wanted or what we were looking for changes, and starts to fit in with Gods will and purpose for our lives. Marriage is a beautiful thing..... tbc

Let's be the generation to take things back to the original plan through Christ! Only then can we have a solid foundation in the family which is vital to establishing a fruitful n God-fearing society.

You are what you attract..! Seeking God as priority is key! (Matthew 6:33) #TakeNote

"O my Gaaard!" LMAO!!
Youve hit d nail on the head hun! These days people go into marriage with more of a taking than giving attitude to fill a void that only Christ can fill. You need His spirit to bring out your best so you give your best to the spouse the spirit leads you to..(2b cont..)

This is powerful Micheal. My prayer is for God to help us all be so connected to Him that we find each other in Him. We can't miss it if we are deeply rooted in a relationship with our Creator God. He will lead & guide us. Thanks son.

True Stories!
We live in a generation that celebrates the single mother, is it no wonder that these are the same women you see crying over the corspe of their murdered teenaged son or that their teenaged son's a murderer. People don't respect marriage anymore or respect its value, it's sad.
